Crumble Topping



Here's how to make delicious crumble topping that you can add to fruit - to make a traditional crumble pudding such as apple, ruhbarhb or pear - or sprinkle on ice cream for a lovely topping.

It's very easy to make!

You'll need:

4oz Self Raising Flour

2oz Margarine

2oz Sugar

Oats - optional

Instructions:

1. Rub the margarine and flour together until it is fully mixed and then add the sugar.

2. Continue mixing the ingredients until it starts to look like crumble.

For added crunch, sprinkle in some rolled oats.

3. You can then add this mixture over your favourite fruit such as apples, pears, blueberry, blackberrys.

4. Simply put the fruit into a baking dish - if using apples or pears you may prefer to gently cook them in a little water for 5 minutes to soften the fruit.

5. Once the fruit is in the baking dish, sprinkle the crumble mixture on top, smooth down the surface.

Cooking Times:

30 minutes

Gas mark 5 (190 degrees)

170 degress in a fan assisted electric oven



Crumle On Its Own

To cook the crumble mixture on its own, simply add the mixture into a shallow cake tray, smooth down the surface and cook for the same time as above.

Then if cooking with fruit to make a traditional crumble, you can serve with custard or ice cream.

If you cooked the crumble on its own, sprinkle on ice cream, breakfast cereal or fresh fruit for a delicious topping.
